A better world is possible.

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Behavior & Health Equity at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and co-founder of the Collaborative for Transformative Public Health.

When I’m not spending time chasing around my three children, I think about, research, teach, and organize around root causes of health inequities and creating supportive systems for a transformed future. I wrote the book Imagine Doing Better: Why policies backfire and how prevention thinking can change everything which weaves stories and research to detail the surprising costs of our current public policies and the steps we can take to transform society at the roots.
